A Biolectric CHP converts biogas into electricity and heat.
You can use the electricity generated on your farm and what is left over can be injected into the grid. You can use the heat to heat your home, barn or greenhouse, make fertiliser or dry grass, for example. There is a useful application for every farm.
Our smart plant can also buffer the biogas and deploy it when it is most convenient for you. Just like a battery.
This can be done on farms with at least 50 cows.
For a farm type with 120 cows, you produce 176 000 kWh of electricity on an annual basis. At a price of €0.2 per kWh, you can thus easily reach €35 000 income for electricity per year.
The slurry is pumped directly from the reception pit several times a day.
An immersion mixer ensures proper homogenization in the silo for optimal biogas production at a temperature around 40°.
In conjunction with the feeding cycle, the digestate is pumped out and stored in the farm’s manure storage.
The manure in the digester creates biogas through an anaerobic process.
In the container, the biogas is actively cooled with a gas cooler to remove water.
Then the biogas passes through an activated carbon filter to remove the remaining sulfur (Hâ‚‚S).
The biogas is converted into electricity and heat in a combustion engine.
The CHP consists of an engine and a generator. This generator produces electricity. This electricity is partly used for the operation of the installation, and the majority is available for the farm or can be sold via the electricity grid.
With the biogas from the manure of 60 cows, 11 kW per hour can be generated. This is approximately 100 MWh per year.
The heat from the engine heats the slurry in the silo via a hot water circuit to the optimal working temperature (40°).
The residual heat can be recovered for use on the farm with the heat exchanger at a temperature of up to 85°.
Curious about what you can do with this heat?
It starts with hourly fresh manure. We ferment that into biogas.
An age-old process.
In a combined heat and power (CHP) unit, we convert the biogas into electricity and heat.
This CHP is the heart of our installation.
Around it, we built a highly standardized product.
A silo for the manure, a twenty-foot container for the CHP, and all the automation.

The SMART system can turn your digester into a battery. When you have overcapacity, it allows you to build a gas buffer. With this gas buffer you can tune the energy production of the Biolectric to your needs via the MyBiolectric application.
Fully customize your energy production to your business needs. Milking, stripping, or heating? You can guarantee production at specific times when it suits you best.
Digestate, derived from the breakdown of animal manure, serves as a liquid, alternative fertilizer that enriches the soil with essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, while also minimizing odor nuisance. This product provides crops with both immediate and long-term nutrition through a combination of rapidly available mineral nitrogen and slowly released organic nitrogen, making it an effective means to reduce dependency on synthetic fertilizers.
Generate your own energy and sell your surplus to the neighbourhood.
Your animals feed the manure, the plant does the rest.
You manage your installation in a few clicks, from anywhere.
Building the installation takes 3 days on average.
At least 90% technical return, for 15 years.
"A smart investment that paid off faster than promised."
"Our automated installation only takes a few minutes a day. Feel free to come and have a look."
Manure is always available, 24/7, regardless of whether the sun shines or the wind blows.
Your biogas functions as the most economical battery and makes you, the farmer, independent from fluctuating and rising energy prices.
Lower your energy bill and sell excess energy.
When you have overcapacity, you could optimize your production with our SMART algorithm
Transform manure into digestate.
After thick-thin separation, one of the best box litters for cows.
As a fertiliser, a less strong odour and much better absorption of NPKs due to increased fluidity.
That way, you also save on fertiliser.
Thanks to a high degree of automation and the Biolectric maintenance subscription with technical guarantee, daily follow-up is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes.
This allows you to stay focused on caring for animals and crops.
By digesting hourly fresh on-farm, you maximise methane emission reductions of up to 82%.
And that requires neither manure transport nor maize or other co-products.
For us, maize is a food crop, not for producing ‘green’ energy.
