Sustainability is very important to us.
Not only do we work towards sustainability with our end product, but it is an integral part of all our business processes; it is woven into our DNA.
Fresh slurry is central to our process.
We therefore help farmers ferment manure on the farm so that we can ferment the manure hourly and thereby have maximum positive impact on greenhouse gas emissions. This removes the need for slurry transport and additional inputs. Maize and other fodder are best used through the cow first, rather than for energy production.
Our systems require no transport movements. Everything is automated, with no need for time-consuming administration, and you get a fertiliser you already know – from your own animals.
The energy used for pumps and mixers is generated on site from renewable sources.

For instance, we use the energy from our test post to power the desks.

We design our systems with sustainability in mind at every stage.
We deliberately choose sustainable materials, such as 10cm thick insulation in our silos for maximum heat recovery.
This includes a catalytic converter, a flare for excess gases, and the reuse of 20-foot shipping containers.
All supported by a technical guarantee – because if it doesn’t work reliably, it isn’t sustainable.
We optimised our production so that transport fits on just one truck, minimising our carbon footprint.
As a company, Biolectric has been fully carbon neutral since 2020, offsetting our emissions with 20 of our own plants.
